Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Record Performance in Vertically Stacked, Solution‐Processed ZTO Schottky Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Schottky diodes based on solution processed sustainable zinc—tin–oxide thin films present an eco‐friendly and versatile alternative to conventional CMOS based technologies. Beyond state‐of‐the‐art performance for vertically stacked solution‐based oxide diodes was achieved, including rectification ratios exceeding nine orders of magnitude, and intrinsic

From a Distance to a Process Perspective: A Method for Assessing the Feasibility of a Port–Dry Port System

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Ports often act as bottlenecks in import cycles. Yet feasibility assessments of port–dry port systems still privilege distance/location over the process dynamics that generate time and cost.

An Accessible Microfluidic Platform for the Generation of Polarized Brain Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study presents an accessible double‐gradient microfluidic device that enables controlled morphogen delivery and spatially polarized differentiation in brain organoids. By integrating a pump‐free design and stable fabrication method, the platform generates dorsal–ventral neuronal asymmetry, offering a reproducible and versatile approach to model ...

Bidirectional Process Prediction in the Laser‐Induced‐Graphene Production Using Blackbox Deep Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study shows that a lightweight blackbox neural network provides a practical, cost‐effective solution for bidirectional process prediction in laser‐induced graphene (LIG) fabrication. Achieving high predictive performance with minimal overhead, the approach democratizes machine learning (ML) for resource‐limited environments.

Flexible Implantable Silicon Carbide Multi‐Electrode Array (MEA) for Cell Multichannel Recording and Cell Ablation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Flexible silicon carbide (SiC) microelectrode arrays enable high‐fidelity, multichannel cell extracellular recording and precise localized ablation. SiC has been extensively evaluated to persist long‐term in chronic physiological conditions while remaining robust, with excellent electrical and electrochemical stability.

History of the steel industry in the Port Talbot Area 1900-1988 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This thesis examines the history of steelmaking at Port Talbot in South Wales from the start of modern steelmaking in 1902 to 1988. Although the British steel industry has been studied at national level, few studies have looked at company level and ...

Lower Danube Ports Development and Opportunities

open access: yesJournal of Danubian Studies and Research, 2020
Inland waterways and maritime transport network consists of two equally important elements: links and nodes. For an efficient and reliable functioning of the transport network both elements must be equally developed and harmonized.
