Evaluating the trade‐off between plan complexity, dosimetric accuracy, and treatment efficiency: Role of aperture shape controller settings in HyperArc for intracranial oligometastases

open access: yesPrecision Radiation Oncology, Volume 9, Issue 4, Page 284-294, December 2025.
In HyperArc™ SRS for intracranial oligometastases, Aperture Shape Controller (ASC) settings minimally affect dosimetric quality and overall plan complexity. High ASC strengths significantly reduce Monitor Units (MUs), enhancing treatment efficiency, thereby achieving an optimal balance for clinical use.

Towards 3D printed multifunctional immobilization for proton therapy: initial materials characterization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Purpose: 3D printing technology is investigated for the purpose of patient immobilization during proton therapy. It potentially enables a merge of patient immobilization, bolus range shifting, and other functions into one single patient-speci c structure.

Electronic Portal Image Device Dosimetry for Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Radiological Technology, 2013
Recently electronic portal image devices (EPIDs) have been widely used for quality assurance and dose verification. However there are no reports describing EPID dosimetry for Elekta volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT). We have investigated EPID dosimetry during VMAT delivery using a commercial software EPIDose with an Elekta Synergy linac.
