Development of an Electronic Portal Imaging Device Dosimetry Method [PDF]
Support arm backscatter and off-axis effects of an electronic portal imaging device (EPID) are challenging for radiotherapy quality assurance. Aiming at the issue, we proposed a simple yet effective method with correction matrices to rectify backscatter ...

Portal dosimetry in radiotherapy repeatability evaluation. [PDF]
AbstractThe accuracy of radiotherapy is the subject of continuous discussion, and dosimetry methods, particularly in dynamic techniques, are being developed. At the same time, many oncology centers develop quality procedures, including pretreatment and online dose verification and proper patient tracking methods.

On flattening filter-free portal dosimetry. [PDF]
Varian introduced (in 2010) the option of removing the flattening filter (FF) in their C‐Arm linacs for intensity‐modulated treatments. This mode, called flattening filter‐free (FFF), offers the advantage of a greater dose rate. Varian's “Portal Dosimetry” is an electronic portal imager device (EPID)‐based tool for IMRT verification.

Portal dosimetry in wedged beams. [PDF]
Portal dosimetry using electronic portal imaging devices (EPIDs) is often applied to verify high‐energy photon beam treatments. Due to the change in photon energy spectrum, the resulting dose values are, however, not very accurate in the case of wedged beams if the pixel‐to‐dose conversion for the situation without wedge is used.

Feasibility of portal dosimetry for flattening filter-free radiotherapy. [PDF]
The feasibility of using portal dosimetry (PD) to verify 6 MV flattening filter‐free (FFF) IMRT treatments was investigated. An Elekta Synergy linear accelerator with an Agility collimator capable of delivering FFF beams and a standard iViewGT amorphous silicon (aSi) EPID panel (RID 1640 AL5P) at a fixed SSD of 160 cm were used.

Patient-specific quality assurance for extremely small field sizes using 3D in vivo dosimetry in fractionated stereotactic radiosurgery for brain metastases. [PDF]
Abstract Background Fractionated stereotactic radiosurgery (fSRS) using LINAC‐based volumetric‐modulated arc therapy (VMAT) has become widely adopted and achieved favorable outcomes. However, this technique involves extremely small field sizes, making pre‐treatment quality assurance (QA) with high‐resolution detectors essential.

The Spinning Manny Indexed Overlay System for VMAT total body irradiation. [PDF]
Abstract Purpose While modern intensity‐modulated techniques for total body irradiation (TBI) offer superior organ sparing and improved dose coverage compared to conventional TBI, their complexity has limited widespread adoption. Specifically, when treating individuals with Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT‐TBI), a transition between the head ...
