Portal dosimetry in wedged beams. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Appl Clin Med Phys, 2015
Portal dosimetry using electronic portal imaging devices (EPIDs) is often applied to verify high‐energy photon beam treatments. Due to the change in photon energy spectrum, the resulting dose values are, however, not very accurate in the case of wedged beams if the pixel‐to‐dose conversion for the situation without wedge is used.

Feasibility of portal dosimetry for flattening filter‐free radiotherapy [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, 2016
The feasibility of using portal dosimetry (PD) to verify 6 MV flattening filter‐free (FFF) IMRT treatments was investigated. An Elekta Synergy linear accelerator with an Agility collimator capable of delivering FFF beams and a standard iViewGT amorphous silicon (aSi) EPID panel (RID 1640 AL5P) at a fixed SSD of 160 cm were used.

Monte Carlo portal dosimetry [PDF]

open access: yesMedical Physics, 2005
This project developed a solution for verifying external photon beam radiotherapy. The solution is based on a calibration chain for deriving portal dose maps from acquired portal images, and a calculation framework for predicting portal dose maps.

Automaticin vivoportal dosimetry of all treatments [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics in Medicine and Biology, 2013
At our institution EPID (electronic portal imaging device) dosimetry is routinely applied to perform in vivo dose verification of all patient treatments with curative intent since January 2008. The major impediment of the method has been the amount of work required to produce and inspect the in vivo dosimetry reports (a time-consuming and labor ...

Development of an Electronic Portal Imaging Device Dosimetry Method [PDF]

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2021
Support arm backscatter and off-axis effects of an electronic portal imaging device (EPID) are challenging for radiotherapy quality assurance. Aiming at the issue, we proposed a simple yet effective method with correction matrices to rectify backscatter ...

Comparison of EPID portal dosimetry verification and RadCalc dose verification for VMAT treatment plans [PDF]

open access: yesNowotwory
INTRODUCTION: Dosimetry verification is required before starting each treatment. The legal regulations do not clearly define one method of plan verification.

Transit dosimetry of stereotactic body radiotherapy treatments with electronic portal dosimetry device in patient with spinal implant [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical and Engineering Sciences in Medicine, 2022
Abstract Aim In recent years, the use of the Electronic Portal Imaging Device (EPID) as an in vivo dosimeter has become widespread. However, reports of EPID for stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) applications is scarce. There is no data on this topic especially when there are high-density materials in the radiation field.

Portal dosimetry in radiotherapy repeatability evaluation. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Appl Clin Med Phys, 2021
AbstractThe accuracy of radiotherapy is the subject of continuous discussion, and dosimetry methods, particularly in dynamic techniques, are being developed. At the same time, many oncology centers develop quality procedures, including pretreatment and online dose verification and proper patient tracking methods.
