AI-Enabled Accurate Non-Invasive Assessment of Pulmonary Hypertension Progression via Multi-Modal Echocardiography [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Echocardiographers can detect pulmonary hypertension using Doppler echocardiography; however, accurately assessing its progression often proves challenging. Right heart catheterization (RHC), the gold standard for precise evaluation, is invasive and unsuitable for routine use, limiting its practicality for timely diagnosis and monitoring of pulmonary ...

Analysis of Late Complications Associated With Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Patients With Dyskeratosis Congenita

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Dyskeratosis congenita (DKC) is a genetic disorder frequently complicated by bone marrow failure (BMF). Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) remains the only curative treatment option for BMF in DKC. However, late complications of DKC, especially pulmonary fibrosis (PF), pose significant challenges.

Focal Nodular Hyperplasia (FNH)/FNH‐Like Lesions: An Important Potential Mimic of Relapsed Malignancy in Pediatric Cancer Patients

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH) is a rare benign lesion of the liver, which is becoming increasingly recognized in survivors of pediatric cancer. These lesions are under‐reported, but do not require further investigation or treatment. Application of machine learning in constructing a diagnostic model for neonatal biliary atresia

open access: yesPediatric Investigation, EarlyView.
This study included 85 neonates who visited the hospital due to pathological jaundice. Using the basic clinical characteristics and serological examination data of the neonatal period, we developed six machine‐learning (ML) models. Extreme gradient boosting has the maximum potential to diagnose biliary atresia in the neonatal period.
