Development of a Protocol for Long‐Term Ex Vivo Normothermic Machine Perfusion of Rodent Livers

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
Long‐term normothermic machine perfusion (LT‐NMP) is the next revolution in liver transplantation and could support grafts for days, and potentially weeks. A rodent model of LT‐NMP is important for laboratory research, but has not been achieved until now. Our study describes a protocol for LT‐NMP of rodent livers.

Spontaneous Intestinal Perforation in Extremely Premature Infants Exposed to Early Low‐Dose Hydrocortisone

open access: yesActa Paediatrica, EarlyView.

Predicting Hepatic Decompensation in Patients With Metabolic Dysfunction Associated Steatotic Liver Disease‐Related Cirrhosis: The ABID‐LSM Model

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
The ABID‐LSM score, a combination of liver stiffness measurement and easily obtainable clinical and laboratory factors, can accurately predict the risk of hepatic decompensation in patients with MASLD and cirrhosis. ABSTRACT Background & Aims Predicting the risk of hepatic decompensation guides prognostication and therapy; however, it is challenging in

Bradycardia and Other Arrhythmias in Patients With Hepatorenal Syndrome‐Acute Kidney Injury Following Terlipressin Treatment: A Pooled Analysis of Three North American Phase III Clinical Studies

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
In a pooled analysis, bradycardia was observed in 6% of terlipressin‐treated patients but rarely required a dose interruption or reduction. Arrhythmia serious adverse event incidences were low and similar in both treatment groups. Routine intensive cardiac monitoring for the detection of arrhythmias may not be necessary during terlipressin ...
