We present a case of 64-year-old US veteran who developed recurrent hepatic encephalopathy (HE) following transjugular intrahepatic portasystemic shunt (TIPSS) procedure. The patient had a history of metabolic syndrome and cirrhosis due to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis.
