The manufacture of Portland cement clinker in a spouting bed

Powder Technology, 1971
Abstract A process is proposed for the production of Portland cement clinker in a spouting bed. The aim is to obtain an optimum residence time by selective separation of raw and reacted material. The feed consists of granules and the separation is based on the increase in terminal fall velocity of the granules during the process.

Alkali compounds in Nigerian portland cement clinkers

Cement and Concrete Research, 1983
Abstract Four out of the six Nigerian Portland cement clinkers contain alkali bearing compounds in the form of either single or double sulphates. An attempt has been made to identify these compounds and derive their compositions from SEM-EDXA study.

Mechanism of glass formation in portland cement clinker

Cement and Concrete Research, 1979
Abstract In the system C 3 AC 4 AFSiO 2 MgO, the glass formation region that is closely similar in composition to the interstitial material of portland cement clinker has been determined. The interstitial melt that exists in equilibrium with the silicates at the clinkering temperature contains a little silica.

Microscopical examination and interpretation of Portland cement and clinker

1999
The fundamental use of the microscope in Portland cement clinker analysis is to bring to the observer a visual appreciation of phase identities, sizes, conditions, and mutual relationships. With only a basic assemblage of equipment, microscopical analysis can be easily performed, in many cases within a few minutes.
