Distribution of Titania in the Phases of Portland Cement Clinker

open access: yesJournal of the Ceramic Association, Japan, 1973
In order to clarify the distribution of titania in the phases of the portland cement clinker, 0, 5, 10 and 15% of 3CaO⋅2TiO2 were added to the model clinker which was composed of 35% of 3CaO⋅SiO2, 35% of 3CaO⋅SiO2, 15% of 3CaO⋅Al2O3 and 15% of 4CaO⋅Al2O3⋅Fe2O3 in weight, and the samples were heated between 1350° and 1500°C.

Chemical and Microstructural Evolution of Cement Pastes with Additives and SCMs During the First 24 h

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Early‐age chemical evolution governs the development of hydrate assemblages and microstructure in cementitious systems, especially when additives and supplementary cementitious materials are incorporated. This study investigates the first 24 h of hydration in Portland cement pastes modified with selected additives and supplementary ...

Utilization of blast furnace slag as a raw material for the manufacture of portland cement clinker [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Presently, there is an increased emphasis on the use of blended cement like slag cement, fly ash cement etc. This reduces the energy requirement for cement production or reduces the CO2 release in the environment as the portland cement clinker is ...

Effect of Chemical Additives on Carbon Dioxide in the Sustainable Production of Portland Pozzolanic Cement [PDF]

open access: yesمحیط زیست و مهندسی آب
This research aims to investigate the reduction of CO2 emissions in the cement production process by producing pozzolanic portland cement (PPC) with the characteristics of ordinary portland cement (OPC) using quality-improving chemical additives ...

From Waste to Value: Conversion of Calcium Sulfate to Vaterite via Carbon Capture and Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 34, 27 April 2026.
This study introduces a new concept for carbon management that relies on the carbonation of industrial gypsum waste and yields phase‐pure vaterite at ambient conditions without any additives. The obtained vaterite is further shown to be a reactive material that develops compressive strength in aqueous suspensions like conventional cements.

Dredged sediments used as novel supply of raw material to produce clinker of Portland cement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
International audienceThe maintenance of waterways generates large amounts of dredged sediments that are an environmental issue. This paper focuses on the use of fluvial sediment to replace a portion of the raw materials of Portland cement clinker, which
