Evolution of the hydration in cements with additions
In this paper, the hydration mechanism of portland cement pastes with limestone, quartz and natural pozzolan (80/20 weight) was analized. The techniques used were nonevaporable water content, pozzolanic activity and X-ray diffraction.

Sulfate resistance of ordinary Portland cement with fly ash
Low calcium fly ash has demonstrated to be an effective pozzolan to improve sulfate resistance of ordinary portland cement (type I). In this paper physico-chemical effects that produce this pozzolan in the mortar exposed to sulfate attack are studied ...

THE EFFECT OF THE POZZOLANIC ACTIVITY OF DIFFERENT MICRO-FILLERS ON PORTLAND CEMENT HYDRATION
This study estimates the influence of the different pozzolanic activity micro-fillers on the hydration of Portland cement. Cements with binary blends of ordinary Portland cement and different micro-fillers (15% by mass) were developed and their characteristics were investigated in terms of the fineness, chemical composition, mineral composition ...

This work explores the use of various fillers, including eggshell powder, feather meal, peanut hulls, and sawdust to reinforce a base binder GFS90 (comprised of 90 wt.% sulfur, 5 wt.% chicken fat, and 5 wt.% sunflower oil). The resulting composites showed impressive compressive strengths ranging from 15.3 to 36.2 MPa, making them a potential ...

ABSTRACT Sustainable Construction Materials (SCM) are crucial for reducing lifecycle emissions in the built environment, yet their adoption remains limited in many developing economies, such as Nigeria. This study investigates how awareness influences the adoption of SCM among professionals in Nigeria's Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC)

Mortars From Punic and Hellenistic–Roman Solunto: Materials, Formulations, and Technology
ABSTRACT This study presents an archaeometric investigation of 18 hydraulic rendering and bedding mortars from Punic and Hellenistic–Roman Solunto (NW Sicily). The research aimed to characterize raw materials, reconstruct manufacturing sequences, and evaluate technological proficiency through mineralogical and petrochemical analyses.
