Two new species of Thalamita Latreille, 1829 (Decapoda, Portunidae)
Crustaceana, 2017Thalamita matzuzawai sp. n. is described from the subtidal zone of Shikoku, Japan. This species is most similar to Thalamita picta Stimpson, 1858 and T. simillima Crosnier, 2002. It also shows similarity to the group of Thalamita species with a supplementary tooth at the base of the first anterolateral tooth, thus representing an intermediate position ...

Molecular phylogenetic reassessment of eastern Atlantic Callinectes (Brachyura, Portunidae)
CrustaceanaAbstract Several species from the genus Callinectes are economically important, yet the number of species and their geographic distributions remain unclear. Recently, one of the American species, Callinectes larvatus, was synonymized with one of the African species, C. marginatus, making C.

Thermal tolerance of the marine crab, Portunus pelagicus (Brachyura, Portunidae)
Crustaceana, 2014Critical thermal maxima (CTMax) and minima (CTMin) were determined for the blue crab, Portunus pelagicus acclimated at 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35° ± 1°C. The CTMax of blue crabs at those acclimation temperatures were 38.17, 39.08, 40.07, 41.26, and 42.66°C, respectively.

The surface swarming ofPolybius henslowi[Brachyura: Portunidae]
Journal of the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom, 1968A dense population ofPolybius henslowiLeach was recorded at the surface of the sea 15 miles off the north coast of Spain. The depth of water at this point was 1740 m. Visual observations of the swimming behaviour show thatPolybiustends to swim with the body facing diagonally and backwards against the current. The space between individuals appears to be
