Finding One's Place: ESL Teachers' Experiences of Language and Identity in the School Spaces of Quebec

open access: yesTESOL Quarterly, EarlyView.
Abstract This study investigates how English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers navigate their professional and linguistic identities within Quebec's complex linguistic landscape. Drawing on critical approaches to conceptualizing space, we examine physical and metaphorical spaces in schools as sites of identity negotiation and community building. Data

Micro‐habitat selection by boreal woodland caribou improves access to food

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Bio‐logging sensors attached to radiotelemetry receivers have great potential to transform our understanding of the ecological, physiological, and energetic constraints that shape patterns of wildlife movement under field conditions. We used video camera collars to assess microhabitat selectivity by woodland caribou Rangifer tarandus in boreal forests ...

Enterprise Network Security Using Few‐Shot Meta‐Learning

open access: yesArtificial Intelligence for Engineering, EarlyView.
This paper involves a few‐shot learning study that uses model‐agnostic meta‐learning. A meta‐dataset was curated by combining six benchmark network intrusion detection datasets by parsing network traffic data from PCAP files. An MAML model performs meta‐training, validation and meta‐testing before and after fine‐tuning.

Multitype Game Optimisation: A Two‐Stage Fine‐Tuning Framework for Multi‑Game Optimisation With Large Language Models

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Large language models (LLMs) have made remarkable advances in natural language processing, demonstrating great potential in modelling structured sequences. However, adapting these capabilities to machine gaming tasks such as Go remains challenging due to limitations in strategy generalisation and optimisation efficiency.
