Validation of the IRI‐2016 model with Indian NavIC data for future navigation applications

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 15, Issue 1, Page 37-50, January 2021., 2021
Abstract The position accuracy of Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC) system is affected by several sources of errors. Among them, the Ionospheric Time Delay (ITD) error is the most predominant one which depends upon the total electron content (TEC) present in the ionosphere. The ITD variations are more intense over low latitude regions due to

Collision risk of Montagu’s Harriers Circus pygargus with wind turbines derived from high‐resolution GPS tracking

open access: yesIbis, Volume 162, Issue 2, Page 520-534, April 2020., 2020
Flight behaviour characteristics such as flight altitude and avoidance behaviour determine the species‐specific collision risk of birds with wind turbines. However, traditional observational methods exhibit limited positional accuracy. High‐resolution GPS telemetry represents a promising method to overcome this drawback.

Survival and Conflict Behavior of American Black Bears after Rehabilitation

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, Volume 84, Issue 1, Page 75-84, January 2020., 2020
ABSTRACT Wildlife agencies face difficult situations when orphaned or injured American black bear (Ursus americanus) cubs (<12 months old) or yearlings (≥12 and <24 months old) are captured. One option is bear rehabilitation, the care and feeding of cubs or yearlings in a semi‐natural environment, followed by release.

Low‐cost DIY GPS trackers improve upland game bird monitoring

open access: yesWildlife Biology, Volume 2020, Issue 2, Page 1-7, 2020., 2020
We tested the possibility and feasibility of assembling Arduino GPS trackers without previous engineering experience and modified them for upland game birds under extreme environmental conditions. Low‐cost GPS trackers were assembled and deployed on ring‐necked pheasants Phasianus colchicus in conjunction with an ongoing winter survival study.

Examining the Accuracy of Network RTK and Long Base RTK Methods with Repetitive Measurements

open access: yesJournal of Sensors, Volume 2019, Issue 1, 2019., 2019
Real‐time kinematic (RTK) technique is important for mapping applications requiring short measure time, the distance between rover and base station, and high accuracy. There are several RTK methods used today such as the traditional RTK, long base RTK (LBRTK), network RTK (NRTK), and precise point positioning RTK (PPP‐RTK).

Pseudosatellite Dynamic Positioning of UAV Pod Based on an Improved SR‐UKF Algorithm

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2018, Issue 1, 2018., 2018
In view of the practical engineering problem of dynamic positioning of rotor UAV pod and the strong nonlinear problem in dynamic operation of UAV, a real‐time estimation of the dynamic position of the rotor UAV pod is proposed by using the SR‐UKF algorithm.
