Pulse position modulation

2002
Pulse position modulation (PPM) is an historic modulation format which is finding new interest, especially in infrared optical communications. In this paper we introduce PPM in the more general context of pulse modulations. We introduce both analog PPM, for the transmission of continuous time messages, and digital PPM, for data transmission.

B2A as a positive BMP receptor modulator

Growth Factors, 2012
B2A (B2A2-K-NS) is a synthetic multi-domain peptide that in vitro augments bone morphogenetic protein (BMP)-2-induced cell responsiveness and osteodifferentiation. Augmentation of endogenous BMP-2 is thought to ultimately improve bone repair, and has led to clinical evaluation of B2A in orthopedic applications.

Position Modulating OFDM for optical wireless communications

2012 IEEE Globecom Workshops, 2012
Due to only the intensity of a signal is used to carry information, optical wireless systems are constrained to send real and positive values at the optical transmitter. Therefore, the conventional OFDM cannot be directly applied in optical systems.

N-Heterocyclic derived M1 positive allosteric modulators

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2010
Replacement of a phenyl ring with N-linked heterocycles in a series of quinolone carboxylic acid M1 positive allosteric modulators was investigated. In particular, a pyrazole derivative exhibited improvements in potency, free fraction, and CNS exposure.

Optimal pseudorandom pulse position modulation ladar waveforms

Applied Optics, 2015
An algorithm for generating optimal pseudorandom pulse position modulation (PRPPM) waveforms for ladar ranging is presented. Bistatic ladar systems using Geiger-mode avalanche photodiodes require detection of several pulses in order to generate sufficient target statistics to satisfy some detection decision rule.

mGlu2 Receptor Positive Allosteric Modulators

2016
Positive allosteric modulation of the metabotropic glutamate type 2 (mGlu2) receptor has emerged as a promising mechanism for the treatment of central nervous system diseases, with the potential to provide a new and more effective avenue for the treatment of schizophrenia. Since the first discovery of mGlu2 receptor positive allosteric modulators (PAMs)

Positive and negative modulation of nicotinic receptors

2010
Nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (AChRs) are one of the best characterized ion channels from the Cys-loop receptor superfamily. The study of acetylcholine binding proteins and prokaryotic ion channels from different species has been paramount for the understanding of the structure-function relationship of the Cys-loop receptor superfamily.
