Differential Signal-Amplitude-Modulated Multi-Beam Remote Optical Touch Based on Grating Antenna

open access: yesSensors
As screen sizes are becoming larger and larger, exceeding human physical limitations for direct interaction via touching, remote control is inevitable. However, among the current solutions, inertial gyroscopes are susceptible to positional inaccuracies ...

Change in Image Quality According to the 3D Locations of a CBCT Phantom. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
A patient's position changes in every CBCT scan despite patient alignment protocols. However, there have been studies to determine image quality differences when an object is located at the center of the field of view (FOV).

Gradient‐Modified Li‐Rich Manganese‐Based Oxides Cathodes with Breakthrough of Kinetic Limitation for High‐Performance All‐Solid‐State Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The novel gradient‐modified LRMO has been synthesized via a one‐step mechano‐fusion process, with simultaneous S and Zr co‐doping in the near‐surface region and an amorphous coating. The synergistic co‐functionalization stabilizes the oxygen framework, enhances charge transport, and suppresses oxygen dimerization under high potential, which enable ...

FGF8-mediated gene regulation affects regional identity in human cerebral organoids

open access: yeseLife
The morphogen FGF8 establishes graded positional cues imparting regional cellular responses via modulation of early target genes. The roles of FGF signaling and its effector genes remain poorly characterized in human experimental models mimicking early ...

Untethered Magnetic Microswimmers for Targeted Particle Transport and Flow Manipulation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work introduces magnetically actuated microswimmers to dynamically reconfigure fluid flow within a single microfluidic device. Multiple homogeneous microswimmers are independently controlled by an external magnetic field to perform translational and rotational motions, thereby inducing real‐time flow manipulation.

K2P$^2$ $-$ A photometry pipeline for the K2 mission

open access: yes, 2015
With the loss of a second reaction wheel, resulting in the inability to point continuously and stably at the same field of view, the NASA Kepler satellite recently entered a new mode of observation known as the K2 mission.
