Bicycle GPS Positional Accuracy

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2021
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Bicycle riders increasingly utilize bicycle computers or cell phones equipped with GPS positioning to track and share their rides. These bicycle computers and online platforms typically contain a wealth of ride-specific information, such as speed, location, heart rate, pedaling ...

Positioning Accuracy of Neurosurgeons

2007 29th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2007
Accuracy in manual manipulation in a simulated craniotomy environment has been studied. Eighty-eight neurosurgeons with varying amounts of surgical experience were tested in two tasks: attempting to hold an instrument still, and trying to trace a line. Results for RMS and maximum linear and angular motion were measured in the static task.

Accuracy in Horizontal Arm Positioning

Research Quarterly. American Association for Health, Physical Education and Recreation, 1971
Abstract The effects of holding interval and extent of angular displacement upon accuracy in horizontal arm positioning were investigated. Fifteen right-handed female subjects, aged 21 to 41, were individually administered 15 arm positions on one day.

High accuracy magnetic position encoder concept

Conference Record of 1998 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. Thirty-Third IAS Annual Meeting (Cat. No.98CH36242), 1999
Position sensors based on the detection of magnetic flux densities by Hall sensors or magnetoresistors are used in automotive applications for crankshaft and camshaft position sensing, which are needed for engine control. This paper identifies the limitations of traditional designs, which introduce an angular error between the position signal pulse and

High resolution satellite images position accuracy tests

IGARSS 2003. 2003 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37477), 2004
This paper concerns high resolution satellite images position accuracy tests carried out through orthoprojection procedures both using commercial softwares and home-made ones. Planimetric positioning errors and influence of GCPs number on the results are shown.

UWB positioning accuracy and enhancements

TENCON 2017 - 2017 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2017
Requirements of different applications and usage scenarios on a wireless positioning system is very different. A single positioning system is unlikely to meet all the requirements. UWB based positioning systems offer a solution which would meet all the indoor usage requirements.

Position Accuracy of Drilled Holes

CIRP Annals, 1991
When selecting hole-making sequences, the positional accuracy mainly is determined during the first drilling operation. This dissertation consists of three papers which consider the influence of various factors on hole positional accuracy when drilling in inclined workpieces using high-speed steel twist drills with conventional point geometry.

Positional accuracy in spatial databases

Computers, Environment and Urban Systems, 1993
Abstract The quality of a geometrical database, especially in urban areas with high real property prices, is an important issue whenever the introduction of an information system is under discussion. The desired high quality usually conflicts with the budget available.

Laser focus positioning method with submicrometer accuracy

Applied Optics, 2013
Accurate positioning of a sample is one of the primary challenges in laser micromanufacturing. There are a number of methods that allow detection of the surface position; however, only a few of them use the beam of the processing laser as a basis for the measurement.

Positional Accuracy of Two Methods of Geocoding

Epidemiology, 2005
Geocoding is often used in epidemiologic studies to map residences with geographic information systems (GIS). The accuracy of the method is usually not determined. We collected global positioning system (GPS) measurements at homes in a case-control study of non-Hodgkin lymphoma in Iowa. We geocoded the addresses by 2 methods: (1) in-house, using ArcView
