A hybrid mobile robot with a modular Variable‐Stiffness Bridge transitions between a rigid locomotion platform and a flexible, shape‐conforming body. By enclosing objects within its deformable structure rather than relying on dedicated end effectors, the robot achieves orientation‐regulated planar transport, with conformal contact quality shown to ...

A Note on Nonlocal Boundary Value Problems for Hyperbolic Schrödinger Equations
The nonlocal boundary value problem 𝑑2𝑢(𝑡)/𝑑𝑡2+𝐴𝑢(𝑡)=𝑓(𝑡)(0≤𝑡≤1), 𝑖(𝑑𝑢(𝑡)/𝑑𝑡)+𝐴𝑢(𝑡)=𝑔(𝑡)(−1≤𝑡≤0), 𝑢(0+)=𝑢(0−), 𝑢𝑡(0+)=𝑢𝑡(0−), 𝐴𝑢(−1)=𝛼𝑢(𝜇)+𝜑 ...

ON THE EXISTENCE OF POSITIVE DEFINITE SOLUTIONS OF A NONLINEAR MATRIX EQUATION
In this paper the nonlinear matrix equation $X-\sum\limits_{i=1}^{m}A_{i}^*X^{-p_{i}}A_{i}=Q $ with $p_{i}>0$ is investigated. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of Hermitian positive definite solutions are obtained. An effective iterative method to obtain the unique solution is established.

The method presented in this paper provides a practical sensorless solution for estimating both contact force and contact location using only standard joint encoders and an available robot dynamic model. By reformulating the contact estimation problem using a single scalar equivalent contact parameter, the approach enables fast and robust computation ...

‘Turkeys Cannot Vote for Christmas’: Why Epistemic Disobedience in an Anti‐Black World Matters
ABSTRACT Never in the history of global coloniality has the idea of epistemic disobedience been as important as in the 21st century. This is not only because the struggle for decolonisation has shifted from physical confrontation between the coloniser and the colonised into a battle of ideas but also because the former has deployed the idea of ...

Multiple homoclinic solutions for superquadratic Hamiltonian systems
In this article we study the existence of infinitely many homoclinic solutions for a class of second-order Hamiltonian systems $$ \ddot{u}-L(t)u+W_u(t,u)=0, \quad \forall t\in\mathbb{R}, $$ where L is not required to be either uniformly positive ...

Metrics over multi-parameter AdS vacua
We study the notion of a distance between different AdS vacua of string theory. The distance is measured by a metric that is derived by taking an off-shell quadratic variation of the effective action, and evaluating it over families of vacua.

Nonrecursive solution for the discrete algebraic Riccati equation and X + A*X-1A=L
In this paper, we present two new algebraic algorithms for the solution of the discrete algebraic Riccati equation. The first algorithm requires the nonsingularity of the transition matrix and is based on the solution of a standard eigenvalue problem for
