Eigenvalue Localization for Symmetric Positive Toeplitz Matrices
Given a real symmetric matrix, several inclusion and exclusion intervals containing its eigenvalues can be given. In this paper, for symmetric positive Toeplitz matrices, we provide an inclusion interval and, under an additional hypothesis, we also give ...

Through precise molar ratio control of o‐phenylenediamine and phytic acid, we prepare tricolor carbon dots with high quantum yields. Their superior optical properties enable the development of tunable LEDs (3033–5493 K), luminescent solar concentrators, and an innovative self‐powered integrated photovoltaic system.

Abstract Efficient production of 5‐hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) from glucose was achieved in a water‐methyl isobutyl ketone biphasic solvent system over AlCl3 catalyst, using a green and cheap choline chloride (ChCl) salt as a promoter. An optimized HMF yield of 67% was obtained from 0.6 M glucose over 0.06 M AlCl3 with 3.8 M ChCl addition at 140°C ...

On positive definite distributions
We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for a tempered distribution $F\in S'(R)$ to be positive definite. A generalized Cauchy transform $\widetilde{F}$ of $F$ is used as a numerical continuation of $F$ to the open upper and lower complex half-planes in $C$.

Riemannian Geometry for the Classification of Brain States with Intracortical Brain Recordings
Geometric machine learning is applied to decode brain states from invasive intracortical neural recordings, extending Riemannian methods to the invasive regime where data is scarcer and less stationary. A Minimum Distance to Mean classifier on covariance manifolds uses geodesic distances to outperform convolutional neural networks while reducing ...
