Positive Displacement Gas Circulating Pump
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1973The design and operation of a simple gas circulating pump is described. This pump incorporates a piston with an O-ring seal and hollow glass check valve and is capable of circulating gases over a large pressure range, 769–1 Torr. The pump could conceivably operate at lower pressure by changing the check valves.

Development of a windmill for pumping water using positive displacement pump
ARID ZONE JOURNAL OF ENGINEERING, TECHNOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENT, 2021The abundant renewable energy sources have not been harnessed for electricity and other uses to date. Wind speed is high in the Northern part of Nigeria and therefore require utilization so as to reduce the use of harmful non-renewable energy sources. In this work wind energy was used to drive a windmills that provide mechanical energy directly for a ...

System effects in positive displacement pumping
World Pumps, 1999Abstract In the September 1998 issue of World Pumps, Stan Shiels discussed the system effects on rotodynamic pump performance and efficiency. This month, Brian Nesbitt looks at how positive displacement pumps react to systems and clarifies the important differences. In two respects PD pumps behave exactly the same as rotodynamic pumps.

Positive Displacement Pumps - Performance And Application
1994The operating principles of positive displacement (PD) pumps differ from centrifugal pumps. This basic difference is evident in the pump's response to a system's head/flow curve. Several pump applications are presented to illustrate the selection process needed to insure pump reliability.

Selecting a positive-displacement pump in 10 steps
World Pumps, 1995Abstract Choosing the right positive-displacement pump is even harder (than choosing a centrifugal pump). To start with, one has to choose the correct type of PD pump, and there are plenty of those to choose from. Then there are all sorts of variations in drive, sealing, lobe design and gear numbers, within one generic pump type, and after we have ...
