Influence of positive end-expiratory pressure upregulation on the right ventricle in critical patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome: an observational cohort study

open access: yesEmergency and Critical Care Medicine, 2023
. Background. This study aimed to investigate the influence of positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) on the right ventricle (RV) of mechanical ventilation–assisted patients through echocardiography. Methods.

POSITIVE END EXPIRATORY PRESSURE (PEEP);

open access: yesThe Professional Medical Journal, 2012
Introduction: Thoracic surgeries and aesthesia for lung resection has presented anaesthesiologists with certain uniquephysiological problems. These include placing (lateral decubitus position) in order to obtain optimal access for most operations on lungs, pleura, esophagus, and great vessels, opening the chest wall (open pneumothorax) and one lung ...

Effectiveness and Safety of Baricitinib for Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis–Associated Uveitis or Chronic Anterior Antinuclear Antibody–Positive Uveitis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of baricitinib in pediatric patients with active juvenile idiopathic arthritis–associated uveitis (JIA‐U) or chronic anterior antinuclear antibody–positive uveitis, who had an inadequate response to methotrexate (MTX) or biologic disease‐modifying antirheumatic drugs (bDMARDs).

Crack‐Growing Interlayer Design for Deep Crack Propagation and Ultrahigh Sensitivity Strain Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A crack‐growing semi‐cured polyimide interlayer enabling deep cracks for ultrahigh sensitivity in low‐strain regimes is presented. The sensor achieves a gauge factor of 100 000 at 2% strain and detects subtle deformations such as nasal breathing, highlighting potential for minimally obstructive biomedical and micromechanical sensing applications ...

Information Transmission Strategies for Self‐Organized Robotic Aggregation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how information transmission influences the neighbor‐based self‐organized aggregation of swarm robots. We focus specifically on local interactions regarding information transfer and categorize previous studies based on the functions of the information exchanged.

Repercussão da pressão positiva expiratória final na pressão de perfusão cerebral em pacientes adultos com acidente vascular hemorrágico The impact of positive end-expiratory pressure on cerebral perfusion pressure in adult patients with hemorrhagic stroke

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Terapia Intensiva, 2011
A pressão positiva intratorácica pode levar a alterações hemodinâmicas com repercussão no compartimento intracraniano, alterando a pressão intracraniana e a pressão de perfusão cerebral.

CD207‐Positive Dendritic Cells Promote Emphysema Through CD8+ T Cell Pathway in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CD207+ dendritic cells (DCs) drive emphysema by promoting CD8⁺ T cell cytotoxicity via Birbeck granule‐dependent MHC‐I antigen presentation. This DC subset is expanded by cigarette smoke‐induced oxidative stress, which triggers granulocyte‐macrophage colony‐stimulating factor (GM‐CSF) release from airway epithelium.
