Equilibrium Pricing with Positive Externalities (Extended Abstract)

2010
We study the problem of selling an item to strategic buyers in the presence of positive historical externalities, where the value of a product increases as more people buy and use it. This increase in the value of the product is the result of resolving bugs or security holes after more usage.

Position sensing by the charge equilibrium method

Nuclear Instruments and Methods, 1975
Abstract A quantitative description is given to the position sensing behaviour of a resistive line used in the charge equilibrium mode. Normalised functions are given for the position sensitivity, nonlinearity and resolution so that the performance of the system in a particular application can be predicted from knowledge of system parameters.

Nonintegrability in the Vicinity of an Equilibrium Position

1996
There is another method of proving nonintegrability. It is based on estimates from below for coefficients of the power series representing formal integrals which exist by Birkhoff’s theorem. It turns out that the reason for divergence of such series is the existence of anomalously small denominators, i.e., almost resonance relations between the ...

Theory and Application of Motion Around Equilibrium Positions

1966
Abstract The motion associated with equilibrium configurations of dynamical systems is treated. The general results are then applied to astronomy and to space dynamics. The theory of libration points in the restricted problem of three bodies is presented in two parts, showing the essentially different dynamical properties associated with collinear ...

Static Equilibrium Position and Inverse Dynamics

1994
This chapter deals with two important multibody problems related to forces: the determination of the static equilibrium position and the solution of the inverse dynamics. In both cases, it is assumed that the motion, that is, velocities and accelerations, is known, and, in the former case also, that the motion does not exist.

A note on Cournot equilibrium with positive price [PDF]

open access: possibleEconomics Bulletin, 2014
Consider an oligopoly in which firms compete in quantity, the market inverse demand is strictly decreasing (on the set of quantities for which the price is positive), twice differentiable and log-concave, and each of the firms has nondecreasing, twice differentiable cost of production (not necessarily convex).
