Assessment of different positive airway pressure noninvasive ventilation modalities in patients with overlap syndrome

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Chest Disease and Tuberculosis, 2021
Background Overlap syndrome (OS) is a challenging condition with an associated increased mortality. Noninvasive positive pressure ventilation is the main therapy in OS.

Incomplete Exhalation during Resuscitation—Theoretical Review and Examples from Ventilation of Newborn Term Infants

open access: yesChildren, 2023
Background: Newborn resuscitation guidelines recommend positive pressure ventilation (PPV) for newborns who do not establish effective spontaneous breathing after birth.

Optimal pressure in obstructive sleep apnea: auto-titrating positive airway pressure versus predictive equations

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Chest Disease and Tuberculosis, 2021
Background The prescription of equation-based predicted pressure (Ppred) using mathematical equations has been proposed as a practical strategy for the determination of effective positive airway pressure (PAP).

Hydrostatic and uniaxial pressure dependence of superconducting transition temperature of KFe2As2 single crystals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We present heat capacity, c-axis thermal expansion and pressure dependent, low field, temperature dependent magnetization for pressures up to ~ 12 kbar, data for KFe2As2 single crystals. Tc decreases under pressure with dTc/dP ~ -0.10 K/kbar.

Positive effect of cost pressure

open access: yesAnnals of Business Administrative Science, 2018
When a company acquires new knowledge, it expects to create new business by fusing the new knowledge with existing knowledge. At least that is how things appear superficially.

Pressure of thermal excitations in superfluid helium

open access: yes, 2012
We find the pressure, due to the thermal excitations of superfluid helium, at the interface with a solid. The separate contributions of phonons, $R^-$ rotons and $R^+$ rotons are derived.

Flux concentrations in turbulent convection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We present preliminary results from high resolution magneto-convection simulations where we find the formation of flux concentrations from an initially uniform magnetic field.

Dynamic Analysis and Optimization of Mechanical Impactor

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2020
To address the problems of small impact energy, short continuous working time and poor stability in deep wells of the existing impactors, a new type of mechanical impactor is designed.

Thyroid profile in patients with chronic respiratory failure: effect of domiciliary noninvasive positive airway pressure

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Chest Disease and Tuberculosis, 2018
Background Various thyroid hormone states have been described in patients with respiratory failure. Domiciliary noninvasive positive airway pressure (NPAP) can be used for management of chronic respiratory failure.

Perfectionism and attitudes towards doping in junior athletes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Recent theory and research suggest that perfectionism is a personal factor contributing to athletes’ vulnerability to doping (using banned substances/drugs to enhance sporting performance).
