[The effects of positive, negative and neutral self-talk on motor performance].
Canadian journal of sport sciences = Journal canadien des sciences du sport, 1992The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of self-talk on motor performance. Forty-six (46) male and female college students from the Ivory Coast were randomly assigned to two experimental groups (N = 15 for each) and one control group (N = 16). All subjects completed 5 blocs of 10 trials of a dart throw on a 45-cm by 45-cm target.

Effect of association, dissociation and positive self-talk strategies on endurance performance.
Canadian journal of applied sport sciences. Journal canadien des sciences appliquees au sport, 1984The purpose of the present investigation was to compare associative, dissociative and positive self-talk strategies in the performance of two endurance tasks. In Experiment 1, subjects (N = 40) were asked to employ one of these strategies during a 30 minute run around a quarter mile track.
