In this article, the problem of stabilization for the switched positive linear system (SPLS) with impulse and marginally stable subsystems is studied, in which both the continuous time case and the discrete time case are taken into account.

Location awareness is one of the essential characteristics of cognitive radios. In this paper, an innovative cognitive positioning system (CPS) that achieves accuracy adaptation in both indoor and outdoor environments is proposed as a step towards realization of location awareness in cognitive radios.

Positive and compartmental systems
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2002When dealing with compartmental systems, an important question is: given an experiment, i.e., an input-output sequence, and supposing there is no error in the data, is the sequence compatible with the compartmental assumption? If the process under analysis is linear, then the previous question is obviously equivalent to asking whether a given transfer ...

A cutaneous positioning system
Experimental Brain Research, 2015Our previous work revealed that torso cutaneous information contributes to the internal representation of the torso and plays a role in postural control. Hence, the aims of this study were to assess whether posture could be manipulated by patterns of vibrotactile stimulation and to determine whether resulting modified postures were associated with ...

Positive controllability of positive dynamical systems
Proceedings of the 2002 American Control Conference (IEEE Cat. No.CH37301), 2002The paper is devoted to a study of constrained controllability and controllability for linear dynamical systems if the controls are taken to be nonnegative. In analogy to the usual definition of controllability it is possible to introduce the concept of positive controllability. We concentrate on approximate positive controllability for linear infinite-

A Monolithic Positioning System
IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 2004A monolithic positioning system operating with absolute coded magnetic scales is presented. The system is intended for precise absolute positioning in industrial applications. Mounted on a tool, the sensor system moves along a stationary scale. A sophisticated comb of sensors reads out the magnetic coding allowing the absolute position to be calculated.

A survey on indoor positioning systems
2014 22nd International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM), 2014This paper aims to provide the reader with a review of the main technologies explored in the literature to solve the indoor localization issue. Furthermore, some systems that use these enabling technologies in real-world scenarios are presented and discussed.
