Research suggests that the positive affect system may be an important yet underexplored treatment target in anxiety and depression. Existing interventions primarily target the negative affect system, yielding modest effects on measures of positive ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Fusion hindrance for the positive Q-value system 12C+30Si
The fusion excitation function for the positive-Q-value system 12C+30Si (Qfus = +14.1 MeV) has been measured in inverse kinematics down to the μb level and compared with standard coupled-channel calculations.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Effectiveness of B/F/TAF in adults with HIV who are viremic with M184V/I
Bictegravir/emtricitabine/tenofovir alafenamide (B/F/TAF) is indicated for people with HIV who are virologically suppressed, including those with M184V/I. Data on B/F/TAF effectiveness during viremia with M184V/I are limited.

Positive Stabilization of Linear Differential Algebraic Equation System
We study in this paper the existence of a feedback for linear differential algebraic equation system such that the closed-loop system is positive and stable. A necessary and sufficient condition for such existence has been established. This result can be

Positioning with the Global Positioning System [PDF]
AbstractThis year (1980) the U. S. Department of Defense has scheduled to have in operation six satellites of the Global Positioning System (GPS), which will provide timing and three dimensional position recovery potential to North America during certain segments of a day.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
