Privacy-preserving Cooperative Positioning

ION GNSS+, The International Technical Meeting of the Satellite Division of The Institute of Navigation, 2020
We address the issue of user privacy in the context of “collaborative” positioning, wherein information is passed between and processed by multiple cooperative agents with the goal of achieving high levels of positioning accuracy. In particular, we evaluate the feasibility of applying a layer of encryption to a linear least squares (LS) algorithm for ...

Positivity Preserving Hadamard Matrix Functions

Positivity, 2007
The authors prove that for every positive real number \(p\) that lies between even integers \(2(m-2)\) and \(2(m-1)\), there exists a matrix \(A=(a_{ij})\) of order \(2m\) such that \(A\) is positive definite, but the matrix with entries \(| a_{ij}| ^p\) is not.

Positivity-Preserving Schemes in Multidimensions

SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, 2000
The performance of the MUSCL-Hancock upwind scheme is examined on problems of two-dimensional advection. It is found that when the advection direction is skewed relative to the mesh, most discrete total variation diminishing (TVD) limiters give rise to large spurious oscillations near discontinuities.

On the Positivity Preserving Property of Hinged Plates

SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 2009
In this work we show that the Kirchhoff–Love model for a hinged plate $\Delta^2 v = f \text{ in }E,\; v = \Delta v - (1 - \sigma) \kappa v_n = 0 \text{ on }\partial E$ admits, for $f \in L^2(E)$ and $-1 < \sigma < 1$, a unique weak solution in $W^{2,2}(E) \cap W^{1,2}_0(E)$ which satisfies the positivity preserving property when $E \subset \mathbb{R}^2$

Positivity Preserving Semigroups and Positivity Preserving Coercive Forms

2018
We recall the idea of Ma and Rockner (Canad. J. Math., 47:817–840, 1995, [13]) and report some further progress along the line of the research initiated by Ma and Rockner (Canad. J. Math., 47:817–840, 1995, [13]). The further progress includes the technique of \(h\hat{h}\)-transformations for positivity preserving semigroups, and includes our recent ...

Positivity-preserving H∞ model reduction for positive systems.

Autom., 2011
This paper is concerned with the model reduction of positive systems. For a given stable positive system, our attention is focused on the construction of a reduced-order model in such a way that the positivity of the original system is preserved and the error system is stable with a prescribed H ∞ performance. Based upon a system augmentation approach,

Internal positivity preserved model reduction

International Journal of Control, 2009
This article studies model reduction of continuous-time stable positive linear systems under the Hankel norm, H ∞ norm and H 2 norm performance. The reduced-order systems preserve the stability as well as the positivity of the original systems. This is achieved by developing new necessary and sufficient conditions of the model reduction performances in

Preserving positive realness through discretization

Proceedings of the 2000 American Control Conference. ACC (IEEE Cat. No.00CH36334), 2000
Continuous linear systems with positive real transfer functions have desirable stability and realizability properties. The conditions to guarantee that continuous positive realness is preserved under discretization by a standard sampler and zero order hold are investigated here.
