Bound/Positivity Preserving and Energy Stable Scalar auxiliary Variable Schemes for Dissipative Systems: Applications to Keller-Segel and Poisson-Nernst-Planck Equations

SIAM Journal of Scientific Computing, 2021
We propose a new method to construct high-order, linear, positivity/bound preserving and unconditionally energy stable schemes for general dissipative systems whose solutions are positivity/bound p...

Positivity-Preserving Consensus of Homogeneous Multiagent Systems

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2020
This note deals with the positivity-preserving consensus problem for undirected positive multiagent systems. The case that all agents have identical positive state-space models with multiple inputs is investigated.

Privacy-preserving Cooperative Positioning

ION GNSS+, The International Technical Meeting of the Satellite Division of The Institute of Navigation, 2020
We address the issue of user privacy in the context of “collaborative” positioning, wherein information is passed between and processed by multiple cooperative agents with the goal of achieving high levels of positioning accuracy. In particular, we evaluate the feasibility of applying a layer of encryption to a linear least squares (LS) algorithm for ...

Bound/positivity preserving and unconditionally stable schemes for a class of fourth order nonlinear equations

Journal of Computational Physics, 2022
We construct two classes of time discretization schemes for fourth order nonlinear equations by combining a function transform approach with the scalar auxiliary variable (SAV)approach.

Positivity Preserving Hadamard Matrix Functions

Positivity, 2007
The authors prove that for every positive real number \(p\) that lies between even integers \(2(m-2)\) and \(2(m-1)\), there exists a matrix \(A=(a_{ij})\) of order \(2m\) such that \(A\) is positive definite, but the matrix with entries \(| a_{ij}| ^p\) is not.

Positivity Preserving Semigroups and Positivity Preserving Coercive Forms

2018
We recall the idea of Ma and Rockner (Canad. J. Math., 47:817–840, 1995, [13]) and report some further progress along the line of the research initiated by Ma and Rockner (Canad. J. Math., 47:817–840, 1995, [13]). The further progress includes the technique of \(h\hat{h}\)-transformations for positivity preserving semigroups, and includes our recent ...

Positivity-Preserving Schemes in Multidimensions

SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, 2000
The performance of the MUSCL-Hancock upwind scheme is examined on problems of two-dimensional advection. It is found that when the advection direction is skewed relative to the mesh, most discrete total variation diminishing (TVD) limiters give rise to large spurious oscillations near discontinuities.
