Attenuation Correction Strategies for Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography and 4-Dimensional Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography

open access: yesPET Clinics, 2013
This article discusses attenuation correction strategies in positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) and 4-dimensional PET/CT imaging. Average CT scan derived from averaging the high temporal resolution CT images is effective in improving the registration of the CT and the PET images and quantification of the PET data.

ENDOCRINE TUMOURS: Imaging in the follow up of differentiated thyroid cancer: current evidence and future perspectives for a risk-adapted approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The clinical and epidemiological profiles of differentiated thyroid cancers (DTCs) have changed in the last three decades. Today's DTCs are more likely to be small, localized, asymptomatic papillary forms.

Correlation between PET/CT and CT in the staging prior to the treatment of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology, 2021
Introduction: Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma is the seventh most common malignant tumor. The advances in treatment have improved the global survival rates in the past years, although the prognosis is still grave.

Lymph node metastasis of squamous cell carcinoma from an unknown primary in the upper and middle neck: impact of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess the potential of F-18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FDG-PET/CT) imaging for detection of the primary tumor and its impact on treatment planning in patients presenting

First-in-man evaluation of 124I-PGN650: A PET tracer for detecting phosphatidylserine as a biomarker of the solid tumor microenvironment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Purpose: PGN650 is a F(ab′) 2 antibody fragment that targets phosphatidylserine (PS), a marker normally absent that becomes exposed on tumor cells and tumor vasculature in response to oxidative stress and increases in response to therapy.
