Biocatalytic Construction of a Chemical Exchange Saturation Transfer Magnetic Resonance Imaging Nucleoside Probe: Synthesis and Evaluation of 5‐Methyl‐5,6‐Dihydrothymidine

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
Al‐Hilfi et al. present a biocatalytic strategy for synthesizing 5‐methyl‐5,6‐dihydrothymidine (5‐MDHT), a sensitive MRI contrast agent. The study demonstrates that recombinant enzyme catalysis offers an efficient, sustainable, and eco‐friendly alternative to traditional chemical synthesis for producing clinically relevant imaging probes.

Observation of a shape resonance of the positronium negative ion

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
The Positronium negative ion is formed by two electrons bound to a positron, and experimental investigations of its states and energy levels are difficult due to its short lifetime.

Distribution of Positron Annihilation Lifetime Components

open access: yesمجلة بغداد للعلوم, 2008
The intensities of the positron annihilation lifetime components are shown to be related to the free volume model, and the theoretical value of the ratio between the singlet to the triplet state intensities, described by the ratio η, is shown to follow ...

Application Progress of PALS in the Correlation of Structure and Properties for Graphene/Polymer Nanocomposites

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
Giving a deep insight into the microstructure, and realizing the correlation between microstructure and properties is very important to the precise construction of high-performance graphene/polymer nanocomposites (GPN).

Structural Defects in TiNi-Based Alloys after Warm ECAP

open access: yesMetals, 2020
The microstructure, martensitic transformations and crystal structure defects in the Ti50Ni47.3Fe2.7 (at%) alloy after equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP, angle 90°, route BC, 1–3 passes at T = 723 K) have been investigated.

Stability of vacancies in β-type Ti-15Mo-5Zr-3Al alloy fabricated via laser powder bed fusion

open access: yesAdditive Manufacturing Letters, 2023
The structural instability in the β-type titanium alloys could affect the stability of vacancies. The stability of vacancies in a β-type Ti-15Mo-5Zr-3Al alloy, fabricated via laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), was investigated using positron annihilation ...

Effect of Dissolved Hydrogen on Polyamide 11: Observation During Hydrogen Desorption Process After Decompression at Atmospheric Pressure

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Dissolved hydrogen‐induced plasticization of polyamide 11 (PA11) detected as a decrease in flexural modulus (Ef) using Cyclic Three‐Point Bending (Cyc‐3PB). ABSTRACT The effect of dissolved hydrogen on polyamide 11 (PA11) after decompression from a 90 MPa hydrogen gas environment was investigated. Structural analyses using wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction (

INTEGRAL and Nuclear Astrophysics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We briefly review the fundamentals of nuclear gamma-ray line astronomy (radioactive astronomy), focusing on its role to decipher the intimate physics of supernovae, either immediatly (via $^{56}Co)$ or after a time delay (via $^{44}Ti$).

Catalytic Activity of Cobalt Ferrites in Water Oxidation Reactions and Its Defect Dependency

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
Cobalt ferrite spinels calcined at 400–600 °C show temperature‐dependent changes in crystallinity, particle size, and defect concentration. A combination of PXRD, BET, SEM, Mössbauer spectroscopy, magnetometry, and PALS reveals how defect landscapes govern opposing trends in chemical versus electrochemical water oxidation.
