Post buckling of micromachined beams
Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering, 1994The static deformation of micromachined beams under prescribed in-plane compressive stress is studied by analytical and experimental means over the pre-buckling, transition, and post-buckling load ranges. The finite amplitude of the beam in its post-buckled state is predicted by modeling the non-linear dependence of its compressive stress on the out-of-

Post-Buckling of Piezoelectric Thin Plates
International Journal of Structural Stability and Dynamics, 2015In the present paper, the geometrically nonlinear behavior of piezoelastic thin plates is studied. First, the governing equations for the electromechanically coupled problem are derived based on the von Karman–Tsien kinematic assumption. Here, the Berger approximation is extended to the coupled piezoelastic problem.

PERTURBATION APPROACH TO ELASTIC POST-BUCKLING ANALYSIS
Computers & Structures, 1998Summary: This paper shows that effective and reliable computer codes can be obtained by a suitable finite element implementation of the Koiter's perturbation method. However, careful attention has to be paid to all the implementation details in order to avoid kinematic inconsistencies that can strongly affect the results.

Journal of Structural Engineering, 1983
A survey of post‐buckling behavior of structures is presented. Using simple models, the basic characteristics of the buckling and post‐buckling process are outlined. Included are discussions of stable and unstable post‐buckling behavior and of the role of imperfections in stability behavior.

Post-Buckling Behaviour of Rectangular Orthotropic Plates
Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 1973An analysis is presented for the post-buckling behaviour of a simply supported, rectangular, orthotropic plate subjected to biaxial compression. The solution of von Karman-type large deflection equations of the plate satisfying the prescribed boundary conditions is expressed in the form of a double Fourier series for the transverse deflection and a ...

Post-Buckling of Functionally Graded Cylindrical Shells
Volume 1: Advances in Aerospace Technology, 2007In this study, the post-buckling analysis of functionally graded cylindrical shells was carried out using the non-linear finite element method. The longitudinal shell edges were hinged under a central transverse concentrated load. The shells were composed of ceramic (Al2O3) and metal (Ni) phases and the mechanical properties at the region between the ...

Finite element post‐buckling analysis for frames
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1977AbstractPresented in this paper is a direct method of analysis of the elastic non‐linear behaviour of frames. Emphasis is given to the method's capability of tracing the post‐buckling path from a bifurcation point although the method can also trace the non‐linear behaviour of frames with eccentricities.

Stress Analysis of Post-Buckled Sandwich Panels
Volume 3: Structures, Safety, and Reliability, 2018The paper presents a method to assess stresses in sandwich plates with periodic microstructure in the post-buckling region. The fundamental assumption is that the microstructure is linear elastic and von Karman non-linearity is present only at macro-, i.e. panel-scale.
