Post-buckling Analysis of Multiply Delaminated Composite Plates
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1997This paper presents an elastic post-buckling analysis of an axially loaded beam-plate with two central across-the-width delaminations located at arbitrary depths. The analysis is based on the nonlinear beam equations, combined with the appropriate kinematic continuity and equilibrium conditions.

Post‐buckling analysis of structures by dynamic relaxation
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1993AbstractThe paper presents a displacement incrementation procedure to handle multiple loadings in post‐buckling analysis of structures by Dynamic Relaxation (DR). This procedure is generalized and a ‘variable‐arc‐length’ method is proposed to automate the tracing of load‐deflection path.

Imperfection post-buckling analysis of cracked columns
Engineering Fracture Mechanics, 1983Abstract Imperfection post-buckling behavior of a column with a transverse edge crack on one side is studied by considering the local flexibilities due to the crack. These flexibilities are known to be related to the stress intensity factors. This relation is generalized and expressed in the form of a local stiffness matrix of the cracked section of ...

Post‐Buckling Analysis of Steel Space Trusses
Journal of Structural Engineering, 1989A methodology is developed to perform nonlinear postbuckling analysis of steel space truss systems. Structural behavior is modeled at the element level through appropriate stress‐strain relationships. Nonlinearities due to member buckling or yielding are modeled using a tangent modulus in the evaluation of the element elastic stiffness matrix.

Inelastic Post‐buckling Analysis of Trusses
Journal of Structural Engineering, 1983Geometric and physical nonlinearities are considered in the investigation of the post‐critical ultimate load conditions of space trusses. The inelastic behavior of struts is accounted for by tracing the complete stress‐strain relationships in the elastoplastic range. The unloading characteristics of struts in the post‐critical elastic‐perfectly plastic

Post-buckling analysis of tapered cantilever columns
Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 1978Abstract The post-buckling behaviour of tapered cantilever columns is investigated in this paper. The governing nonlinear differential equation with variable coefficients is solved using the Galerkin finite element method. Three loading conditions on the column are considered in the analysis - a concentrated tip load, a uniformly distributed load and

Post buckling analysis of laminated composite shells
Composite Structures, 2007Abstract In the present investigation the geometrically nonlinear post buckling analysis of laminated composite doubly curved shells is presented using finite element method. The finite element model includes the general geometric nonlinearity due to large deflection.

Thermal Post Buckling Analysis of FGM Beams
49th AIAA/ASME/ASCE/AHS/ASC Structures, Structural Dynamics, and Materials Conference
16th AIAA/ASME/AHS Adaptive Structures Conference
10t, 2008An analysis was conducted on thermal post buckling behavior of Functionally Graded Material (FGM) beams subjected to uniform and differential temperature rise through the thickness. The buckling load of a straight FGM beam was determined using von Karman geometrical nonlinearity.

A method of post-buckling analysis
Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids, 1969Abstract A method of post-buckling analysis is described which is related to some work of W.T. K oiter . Differences in starting data and objectives between this method and the author's recent general theory of equilibrium behaviour near critical points are pointed out.
