Efficacy of Post Emergence Herbicides in Groundnut

LEGUME RESEARCH - AN INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL, 2020
Background: Groundnut encounters severe infestation of weed especially during the early stages of growth due to less crop canopy which allows higher weeds growth and thus crop becomes more susceptible to weed competition. During rainy season, effective and economical weed control is not possible through manual and mechanical weeding due to unfavorable ...

Pre- and post-emergent effects on caste

2022
Long fascinated and puzzled researchers, eusociality and the evolutionary mechanisms selecting for and maintaining it are most easily observed within insect societies. In eusocial paper wasps, reproduction is limited to a small subset of females while the remainder forage and feed and care for the offspring.

Post-emergent herbicidal activity of cineole derivatives

Journal of Pest Science, 2014
Essential oils are being investigated as potential herbicides or to provide leads to new environmentally and socially acceptable herbicides. Novel hydroxy and ester derivatives of 1,8-cineole and 1,4-cineole were synthesised, by chemical and biological methods, and have shown pre-emergence herbicidal activity against annual ryegrass and radish. Effects

Post-Emergence Control of Broomrape with Natural Plant Oils

Journal of Sustainable Agriculture, 1998
ABSTRACT The effect of natural oils on broomrape (Orobanche cernua Loefl.) was assessed in a naturally infested tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) field at the Agricultural Research Station, Nipani, India, during 1994–95. Natural oils which are available at low cost and biodegradable differed in their ability to kill the young broom-rape spikes.

Possibilities of mechanical post-emergence weed control in sugar beet

Soil and Tillage Research, 1991
Abstract During a period of four years, 1986–1989, a number of field experiments on post-emergence weed control in sugar beet was carried out. The experiments are components of five weed control systems: chemical; integrated; integrated including ridging; mechanical; mechanical with plants in squares.

Weed control in clusterbean through post-emergence herbicides

Indian Journal of Weed Science, 2016
Field experiment was conducted at Bikaner for two consecutive years during Kharif seasons of 2012 and 2013 to test the efficacy of different weed control measures against weeds in clusterbean Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.) Taub. The experiment consisting of seven treatments, viz. imazethapyr 40 g/ha, quizalofop-ethyl 37.5 g/ha, fenoxaprop-p-ethyl 50 g/ha,

Tolerances of barley cultivars to post-emergence herbicides

Australian Journal of Experimental Agriculture, 1986
Sixteen spring barley cultivars were tested in southern New South Wales for their tolerances to 12 post-emergence herbicides applied at the recommended rates and at three times those rates. Examples of unsafe combinations of cultivars and herbicides (at recommended rates) that have a risk of crop damage in this environment include: Shannon with ...
