Post-heat treatment effect on the dielectric response of epoxy samples

2009 IEEE Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena, 2009
In the present experiment, the dielectric response of various types of epoxies was investigated in the frequency and time domain. The samples consisted of nanostructured epoxy microcomposites and reference microcomposites. Water ingression at the fabrication step and/or at measuring time is known to affect the dielectric response of materials such as ...

Evaluation by FEM of the Influence of the Preheating and Post-Heating Treatments on Residual Stresses in Welding

Key Engineering Materials, 2014
During the last few years various experimental destructive and non-destructive methods were developed to evaluate residual stresses. However it is impossible to obtain a full residual stress distribution in welded structures by means of experimental methods.

Crack formation in MLCCs depending on position with and without post-heat treatment

Journal of Electroceramics, 2006
The crack formation behavior and mechanical properties, hardness (H), modulus (E), and fracture toughness (K IC), at each plane of BaTiO3 based multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) have been investigated and estimated using a nanoindentation technique, including effects of the post-heat treatment and the external electrode on ...

Mechanical Properties of the TiAlSiN Coatings by Post Heat Treatments

2009
In this study, TiAISiN coatings were deposited by cathodic arc evaporation from titanium, aluminum and silicon alloy targets in a reactive nitrogen atmosphere at substrate bias of −50 V. The as-deposited coatings were then subjected to post heat treatment at 400 °C in nitrogen ahnosphere.

Finite Difference Kinetics Modeling for Galvanized Steels with Post Heat Treatments

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
Galvanized steels are widely used in construction, electronic, and automotive applications. By applying heat treatment after the hot-dip galvanizing process, zinc and iron in the galvanized coatings are interacted and series of zinc-iron intermetallic phases are developed. Correspondingly, the properties of galvanized steels may be enhanced.

Post-heat treatment of Nd:YAG laser welded high carbon steels

ICALEO '97: Proceedings of the Laser Materials Processing Conference, 1997
Rapid cooling associated with laser welding can lead to poor component fatigue life. In general, the cooling rate of the welding process determines the weld quality and is dependent on: the weld geometry, laser parameters, beam profile at the workpiece and the material’s thermal and optical properties.

Effect of Post-Heat Treatment on the Critical Current Density of Nb3Al Superconductor

Journal of Superconductivity and Novel Magnetism, 2015
The achievement of stoichiometry is very important for Nb3Al superconductor with excellent properties. A rapid heating, quenching, and transformation method is efficient to achieve stoichiometric Nb3Al superconducting wires, and supersaturated solid solution phase was transformed to Nb3Al in the transformation process with a post-annealing temperature ...

Interactive effect of surface densification and post-heat-treatment on aspen wood

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2010
Abstract Surface densification technique can be used to enhance mechanical properties of low-density wood at a relative low temperature such as 145 °C. However, the final dimensions of densified wood products are not stable when exposed to cyclic weathering.

Accelerated detection of post‐heat‐treatment contamination in pasteurized double cream

International Journal of Dairy Technology, 1983
A technique is described which enables a semi‐quantitative estimation of the extent of post‐heat‐treatment contamination of pasteurized double cream within 2 days. The method involves preincubation of the cream sample at 21° C for 25 h, after which Gram‐negative psychrotrophic bacteria are selectively counted (21° C/25 h incubation) on agar containing ...

Ti6Al4V foams fabricated by spark plasma sintering with post-heat treatment

Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2013
Abstract Ti6Al4V foams were fabricated by the spark plasma sintering (SPS) with post-heat treatment using a blend of Ti6Al4V and sodium chloride powders. The microstructure and properties of the foams were investigated by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray micro-CT, Synchrotron X-ray, compression test and cell experiments.
