Security selection in post-modern portfolio theory : an application to the European stock market
In this work, we compare tangent portfolios and minimum risk portfolios derived from the modern portfolio theory (MPT) and the post-modern portfolio theory (PMPT) to analyse the differences in stock selection. We base our study on a set of 16 stocks included in the EURO STOXX 50 index and estimate inputs from historical data since 1997 until 2015.
