From Mechanics to Electronics: Influence of ALD Interlayers on the Multiaxial Electro‐Mechanical Behavior of Metal–Oxide Bilayers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ultrathin AlOxHy interlayers between aluminum films and polymer substrates significantly improve electro‐mechanical properties of flexible thin film systems. By precisely controlling interlayer thickness using atomic layer deposition, this study identifies an optimal interlayer thickness of 5–10 nm that enhances ductility and delays cracking.

Temperature dependence of viscosity, relaxation times (T1, T2) and simulated contrast for potential perfusates in post-mortem MR angiography (PMMRA). [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Developments in post-mortem imaging increasingly focus on addressing recognised diagnostic weaknesses, especially with regard to suspected natural deaths. Post-mortem MR angiography (PMMRA) may offer additional diagnostic information to help address such

Copper‐Based Crystalline‐Metallic Glass Composite Thin Films: A Novel Material with Enhanced Strength and Thermally Stable Nanotwins

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Cu‐based crystal‐glass composite with high‐density twins is identified by a fast screening technique using combinatorial sputtering together with XRD and nanoindentation mapping. This bamboo‐like structure demonstrates homogenous plastic flow and retains high strength during in situ high temperature tests, up to 1 GPa at 550°C, owing to those ...

Assessing Campylobacter Colonization of Broiler Herds Ante Mortem and Monitoring Campylobacter Contamination Post Mortem by qPCR

open access: yesPathogens, 2020
Human campylobacteriosis is the most prevalent zoonosis, with chicken meat contributing substantially to the number of cases. Measures to avoid or at least reduce exposure by meat contaminated with Campylobacter (C.) spp. are needed.

Regionally Localized Electrolyte Engineering via UV Crosslinking for Stable Ether–Carbonate Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a regionally localized electrolyte (RLE) that spatially separates ether‐ and carbonate‐based functions to stabilize both Li metal and high‐voltage cathodes. An immobilized ether‐rich layer directs Li+ transport, activates LiNO3 locally, and forms a uniform LiF‐rich SEI, enabling lower overpotential, uniform deposition, and long ...

Exclusiones post mortem.

Distribution of artifactual gas on post-mortem multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
L'imagerie est de plus en plus utilisée en médecine forensique. Actuellement, les connaissances nécessaires pour interpréter les images post mortem sont faibles et surtout celles concernant les artéfacts post mortem. Le moyen radiologique le plus utilisé

Human Brain Vasculature‐on‐a‐Chip Model Constructed With Microvessels Isolated From Cryopreserved Postmortem Human Brain Tissue

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This manuscript describes the cultivation of viable microvessels from cryopreserved human brain tissue. When embedded in hydrogels and cultured in microfluidic devices, these microvessels exhibit complex architectures reminiscent of arterioles and capillaries, can be perfused, and display intact barrier function. Collectively, these results demonstrate

Role of forensic odontologist in post mortem person identification

open access: yesDental Research Journal, 2012
The natural teeth are the most durable organs in the bodies of vertebrates, and humankind′s understanding of their own past and evolution relies heavily upon remnant dental evidence found as fossils.
