From Uncertainty to Pathogenicity: Resolving a CSF1R Variant of Uncertain Significance Using Long‐Read Transcriptomics

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background CSF1R‐related disorder (CSF1R‐RD) is a severe autosomal dominant leukoencephalopathy characterized by progressive cognitive, neuropsychiatric, and motor decline. Although genetic testing is widely available, numerous likely pathogenic variants in CSF1R frequently remain classified as variants of uncertain significance (VUS ...

The Impact and Reliability of Tissue Segmentation on In Vivo Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy Metabolite Quantification

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Quantification of metabolite concentrations using MRS requires tissue‐dependent signal corrections. Accurate estimation of voxel tissue composition is therefore essential. Commonly used brain tissue segmentation tools differ in their algorithms and implementation, potentially introducing variability in MRS‐derived concentration ...

Estimation of Intra and Inter-Individual Variability of Post Mortem Skin Hydration by Corneometry

open access: yesArab Journal of Forensic Sciences & Forensic Medicine
Kinetics of post mortem skin desiccation, potentially useful for post mortem interval (PMI) determination, is poorly understood. We therefore propose a preliminary study to assess intra- and inter-individual variability of post mortem skin hydration ...

Hygrothermal Aging and Decoupled Axial‐Radial Compressive Failure Mechanisms in Glass Fiber Reinforced Epoxy Filament‐Wound Composite Tubes

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Composite cylinder under axial and radial compression. ABSTRACT This study examines the hygrothermal degradation of filament‐wound glass fiber‐reinforced epoxy composite tubes designed for application as liners in oil and gas systems, focusing on their response under axial or radial compression.

Preclinical Efficacy and Safety Evaluation of a Novel Controlled‐Expansion ePTFE‐Covered TIPS Stent in a Swine Model

open access: yesPortal Hypertension &Cirrhosis, EarlyView.
This preclinical study evaluated a novel controlled‐expansion expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE)‐covered transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) stent in 11 swine, demonstrating 100% technical success, excellent deployability, and durable 6‐month angiographic patency without thrombosis, migration, fracture, or device‐related toxicity.

Leaf penetration by endophytic Metarhizium brunneum enables infection of Phthorimaea absoluta in tomato mines while inducing the crop defense system

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Spraying Metarhizium brunneum on tomato plants controls heterogeneous and upcoming Phthorimaea absoluta populations by infecting larvae within mines and priming plant induced systemic defences. Abstract BACKGROUND The endophytic entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium brunneum Petch EAMa 01/58‐Su shows strong potential for managing Phthorimaea absoluta, a ...

Interpretation of post-mortem interval by analyzing the histological attributes of gingival mucosa — an observational study

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Forensic Sciences
Background Forensic odontology has been one of the most rapidly advancing fields within forensic science for decades. It goes beyond simply determining age and gender, playing a crucial role in estimating the post-mortem interval (PMI), which remains a ...

Precise 3D Tracking of Highly Non‐Planar Eukaryotic Flagellar Beating Patterns Using Digital Holographic Microscopy

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
The 3D beating dynamics of eukaryotic flagella drive motility, sensory functions, and resource acquisition, yet highly non‐planar beating patterns remain poorly characterized. Based on Digital Holographic Microscopy, holoV3C enables label‐free 3D reconstruction of such complex dynamics with 53 nm axial resolution, demonstrated on mouse sperm and ...
