FEBS Open Bio, Volume 11, Issue 8, Page 2329-2339, August 2021., 2021 Our study showed that cholecystectomy aggravated metabolic disorder and steatohepatitis induced by HFD, which were accompanied by a dramatically altered composition of gut microbiota. These results suggest that gut microbiota disorder caused by cholecystectomy might contribute to the development of NAFLD.
