Postcholecystectomy syndrome

open access: yesМедицинский совет, 2013
There are a lot of different views on the definition of postcholecystectomy syndrome. 4 major causes of complications after cholecystectomy are distinguished.

Syndrome decoding by quantum approximate optimization [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum Inf Process 23, 368 (2024), 2022
The syndrome decoding problem is known to be NP-complete. The goal of the decoder is to find an error of low weight that corresponds to a given syndrome obtained from a parity-check matrix. We use the quantum approximate optimization algorithm (QAOA) to address the syndrome decoding problem with elegantly-designed reward Hamiltonians based on both ...

Adaptive syndrome measurements for Shor-style error correction [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum 7, 1075 (2023), 2022
The Shor fault-tolerant error correction (FTEC) scheme uses transversal gates and ancilla qubits prepared in the cat state in syndrome extraction circuits to prevent propagation of errors caused by gate faults. For a stabilizer code of distance $d$ that can correct up to $t=\lfloor(d-1)/2\rfloor$ errors, the traditional Shor scheme handles ancilla ...

Cholelithiasis and cholecystectomy - what's next?

open access: yesМедицинский совет, 2014
The paper is devoted to gallstone disease and cholecystectomy associated with asymptomatic gallstones. The pathogenetic mechanisms of postcholecystectomy syndrome without clinical evidence in patients after cholecystectomy, as well as methods for ...

Gallstone Ileus Decades after Cholecystectomy and Pylorus‐Preserving Whipples

open access: yesCase Reports in Surgery, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
We report a case of small bowel obstruction due to gallstone ileus found in a patient with previous pancreaticoduodenectomy (Whipple procedure). Investigation by computed tomography of the abdomen showed a transition point in the midjejunum due to a radioopaque intraluminal mass.

Rates of Bile Acid Diarrhoea After Cholecystectomy:A Multicentre Audit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Introduction: Bile acid diarrhoea (BAD) can occur due to disruption to the enterohepatic circulation, e.g. following cholecystectomy. Post-cholecystectomy diarrhoea has been reported in 2.1–57.2% of patients; however, this is not necessarily due to BAD.

Patients with Multiple Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders (FGIDs) Show Increased Illness Severity: A Cross‐Sectional Study in a Tertiary Care FGID Specialty Clinic

open access: yesGastroenterology Research and Practice, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
Objectives. Overlaps between different functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs) are common. However, little is known about the impact of this overlap on patients’ health status. This study is aimed at analyzing the differences between patients with multiple as compared to one single FGID. Methods.

Cholangiolytic Changes in Statin‐Induced Liver Injury

open access: yesCase Reports in Pathology, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
Atorvastatin is a commonly used oral cholesterol‐lowering agent. Side effects associated with statin therapy include arthralgia, myalgia, dyspepsia, weakness, and headache. Prospective and retrospective studies of drug‐induced liver injury have identified statin‐induced hepatotoxicity, with atorvastatin being the most commonly cited.
