Ultrasound‐Guided Hip Pericapsular, Rectus Femoris Peritendinous, and Iliopsoas Bursa Injections Improve Extra‐articular Post‐arthroscopy Hip Pain

open access: yesArthroscopy, Sports Medicine, and Rehabilitation, EarlyView.
Purpose To determine the short‐ and medium‐term efficacy of ultrasound‐guided hip pericapsular, rectus femoris peritendinous, and iliopsoas bursa injections with anesthetic and corticosteroid to treat post‐arthroscopy hip pain, and if any operative variables correlated with response likelihood.

Effect of neodymium: yttrium aluminum garnet laser posterior capsulotomy on intraocular pressure

open access: yesThe Pan-American Journal of Ophthalmology, 2020
Objective: To find out whether there exists a correlation between the quantum of energy used and the amount of rise of intraocular pressure (IOP) following neodymium: yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd: YAG) laser capsulotomy.

Modified Technique of Setting Capsulotomy Thickness in Reducing Capsulotomy-Related Complications During Femtosecond Laser-Assisted Cataract Surgery: A Prospective, Comparative Cohort Study

open access: yesOphthalmology and Therapy, 2023
Introduction Although uncommon, incomplete capsulotomy, anterior capsule tags and anterior capsule tears are still encountered during femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS), resulting in surgical complications.

Intraocular lens implantation in unilateral congenital cataract with minimal levels of persistent fetal vasculature in the first 18 months of life [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
[PURPOSE] To describe the incidence of unilateral congenital cataract associated with minimal (ultrasonically undetectable) levels of persistent fetal vasculature in the first 18 months of the life and to report surgical methods for intraocular lens ...

Knotless Suture Staple Remplissage for Hill‐Sachs Lesions in the Beach Chair Position

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract The addition of remplissage to arthroscopic Bankart repair in the presence of a Hill‐Sachs lesion can help decrease recurrence of anterior shoulder instability. The remplissage procedure often involves passage of suture from anchors in the Hill‐Sachs lesion to the extra‐articular side of the shoulder capsule followed by knot tying.

Flexible Parylene-based Microelectrode Technology for Intraocular Retinal Prostheses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We present the first single metal layer flexible microelectrode arrays designed for intraocular implantation that utilize parylene C as their primary structural and insulating material. These electrodes are fabricated as a key component of an intraocular

Dual Portal Closure of Periportal Capsulotomy for Hip Arthroscopy

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Capsular management in hip arthroscopy is an area of ongoing research, where ease of access to the hip joint is balanced with the preservation of capsular integrity and stability. Traditional techniques such as interportal and T capsulotomies allow broad exposure but may increase the risk of postoperative instability or microinstability if not

Challenging Resection Comes in Many Forms: Addressing Difficult Cam Morphology

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Femoroacetabular impingement with cam morphology that fails nonoperative management can be addressed with hip arthroscopy and cam resection. There exists a wide variation of cam morphology due to various etiologies that can make some cam lesions more challenging to address. A thorough preoperative evaluation and the utilization of a variety of

Fuchs's heterochromic cyclitis and posterior capsulotomy. [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Ophthalmology, 1985
We report a case of intractable glaucoma following an uncomplicated secondary posterior capsulotomy in a 48-year-old male with Fuchs's heterochromic cyclitis. The patient had been free of inflammation and glaucoma since cataract extraction 27 years previously.
