Adaptivity and a posteriori error control for bifurcation problems III: incompressible fluid flow in open systems with O(2) symmetry [PDF]
In this article we consider the a posteriori error estimation and adaptive mesh refinement of discontinuous Galerkin finite element approximations of the bifurcation problem associated with the steady incompressible Navier-Stokes equations.

To what extent do the a priori and a posteriori approach to ignorance inform us about the relationship between science and law ? This paper sets out to explore the answers in five stages. How are we ignorant ?

O Uso de Prioris Não Informativas para Estimação do Tamanho Populacional
Neste trabalho, apresentamos um modelo Bayesiano de captura-recaptura onde consideramos prioris não informativas para os parâmetros populacionais.

Conditions are given under which a sequence of posterior distributions converges weakly to a degenerate distribution. It is not assumed that the model being used actually governs the data. Exponential models are studied in particular and are shown to be well behaved under mild assumptions.

Maximum norm a posteriori error estimation for parabolic problems using elliptic reconstructions
A semilinear second-order parabolic equation is considered in a regular and a singularly perturbed regime. For this equation, we give computable a posteriori error estimates in the maximum norm.

A Posteriori Error Estimates for the Generalized Overlapping Domain Decomposition Methods
A posteriori error estimates for the generalized overlapping domain decomposition method (GODDM) (i.e., with Robin boundary conditions on the interfaces), for second order boundary value problems, are derived.

SENIOR FORMS STUDENTS’ COGNITIVE ACTIVITY DEVELOPMENT IN ENGLISH TEXTUAL ACTIVITY
It is devoted to considering a question of using popular-science texts as the main means of senior forms students’ cognitive activity development. In our work we base on some principles of I.

Explicit formulae of constants within the a posteriori error estimate for optimal control problems are investigated with Legendre-Galerkin spectral methods. The constrained set is put on the control variable.

Towards a structural-functional classification of fynbos: a comparison of methods
The need for a classification of the vegetation of the fynbos region is stressed. In the present work we have evaluated some structural-functional approaches that could be used to classify and describe fynbos.

Local Projection-Based Stabilized Mixed Finite Element Methods for Kirchhoff Plate Bending Problems
Based on stress-deflection variational formulation, we propose a family of local projection-based stabilized mixed finite element methods for Kirchhoff plate bending problems.
