Postoperative Prognostic Nutritional Index as a Useful Prognostic Factor in Patients With Gastric Cancer

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery
Aim To verify whether postoperative prognostic nutritional index is a useful prognostic factor in patients with gastric cancer. Methods This study included 1738 consecutive patients with gastric cancer who underwent radical gastrectomy at our institution

Dual‐Network Protein Hydrogels Promote Rapid Hemostasis and Immune‐Regulated Scarless Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dual‐network protein hydrogel substantially improves hemostasis and scar‐free healing. The adaptive network maintains intimate tissue contact while providing strong wet adhesion, tunable mechanics, and controlled degradation. Concurrent ROS scavenging and M2 polarization suppress fibrotic pathways, preventing scar formation.

A Biomimetic Nanoparticle System Intercepts and Degrades Thrombospondin‐1 to Restore Vascular Homeostasis After Ischemic Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TAX2‐NPs capture extracellular TSP‐1 in the injured liver and promote its macrophage‐mediated autophagic degradation. This process blocks TSP‐1/CD47 signaling, restores VEGFR2‐AKT activity, preserves endothelial function, and mitigates hepatic ischemia‐reperfusion injury.

Vulval leiomyoma with acute postoperative delirium

open access: yes
Leiomyomas are benign, well-circumscribed mesenchymal tumours. While uterine leiomyomas are common, vulval leiomyomas are rare. We report the challenging case of vulval leiomyoma in a multiparous woman, who also developed acute postoperative delirium.

Interface Wettability Transition‐Driven Drug Release and Dual‐Phase Functionalization in Implant Abutment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A temporally controlled drug release coating is developed for abutments using a superhydrophobic coating self‐assembled on mesoporous silica. This surface provides sequential functionality: initial contamination resistance through non‐wetting, followed by controlled drug release via wettability transition.

Paternal Caffeine Exposure Programs Offspring Stress Vulnerability via Sperm Dlk1‐Dio3 Imprinting‐Directed Remodeling of a Novel Neural Circuit

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study elucidates that paternal preconception stress can drive offspring hyperresponsivity of the stress system via hypomethylation of a specific DNA region in sperm. This key link is confirmed in a cohort of prospective fathers: the epigenetic alteration is associated with elevated stress hormone levels.

Boosting Sensory Nerve‐to‐Bone Interactions Enhances Hedgehog Mediated Calvarial Bone Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Boosting sensory nerve activity via TrkA agonism strongly accelerates calvarial bone repair in adult mice. Furthermore, single‐cell RNA sequencing and neuron–bone interactome analyses identify these sensory neurons as a direct neural source of Hedgehog pathway ligands. Consequently, these ligands drive osteoblast differentiation of skeletal progenitors,

Data from: "Postoperative Rehabilitation and Functional Recovery after Knee Meniscectomy: An Ambispective Cohort Study"

open access: yes
Background/Objectives: Meniscectomy is commonly performed to treat meniscal injury. Recovery of patients and restoration of functional capacity may be influenced by several factors, among which postoperative rehabilitation could play a significant role ...
