Abdominoperineal resection (APR) after minimally invasive rectal cancer surgery was associated with significantly higher rates of erectile and early ejaculatory dysfunction compared with anal‐sparing surgery. This systematic review and meta‐analysis evaluated the role of primary tumor resection (PTR) in asymptomatic patients with unresectable metastatic colorectal cancer. Across 17 eligible studies including 9317 patients, PTR did not improve overall or progression‐free survival compared with chemotherapy alone.
