DULA and DEBA: Differentiable Ergonomic Risk Models for Postural Assessment and Optimization in Ergonomically Intelligent pHRI [PDF]
Ergonomics and human comfort are essential concerns in physical human-robot interaction applications. Defining an accurate and easy-to-use ergonomic assessment model stands as an important step in providing feedback for postural correction to improve operator health and comfort.

We provide a step‐by‐step guide for producing E140 antigen fragments from Plasmodium berghei (Pb1) and Plasmodium vivax (Pv1). Pb1/Pv1 are expressed in E. coli, solubilized by freeze–thawing, refolded by slow dilution, purified by affinity chromatography (IMAC), then concentrated and subjected to quality control.

Synergy-based Hand Pose Sensing: Reconstruction Enhancement [PDF]
Low-cost sensing gloves for reconstruction posture provide measurements which are limited under several regards. They are generated through an imperfectly known model, are subject to noise, and may be less than the number of Degrees of Freedom (DoFs) of ...

The thermophilic acetogenic model organism Moorella thermoacetica can utilize lactate as substrate. The formation of lactate by reduction of pyruvate is energetically favorable, but the reverse reaction, the oxidation of lactate to pyruvate with NAD+ as electron acceptor is challenging.

Identification of inhibitors of the Salmonella FraB deglycase, a drug target
A high‐throughput screen was used to identify inhibitors of Salmonella FraB, a drug target. Characterization of top hits (identified after an additional counter screen) revealed that some triazolidines, thiadiazolidines, and triazolothiadiazoles are mixed‐type inhibitors of FraB.

Neural, mechanical, and geometric factors subserving arm posture in humans
When the hand is displaced from an equilibrium posture by an external disturbance, a force is generated to restore the original position. We developed a new experimental method to measure and represent the field of elastic forces associated with posture ...

Recognition of human body posture from a cloud of 3D data points using wavelet transform coefficients [PDF]
Addresses the problem of recognizing a human body posture from a cloud of 3D points acquired by a human body scanner. Motivated by finding a representation that embodies a high discriminatory power between posture classes, a new type of feature is ...
