Abstract: Posturography is a science of upright balance which is controlled by the postural system that organizes the equilibrium. The stabilization of this mechanically unstable body therefore requires a feedback control system that can detect any deviation from the “equilibrium position” to control the appropriate reactions required to return to the ...

Mobility is crucial to maintain a sufficient quality of life. Posturography should be therefore focused on the investigation of daily-life activities ("mobile posturography"). Nowadays, postural control is often estimated by stance tasks on a force plate under different sensorimotor conditions.

Can Posturography Identify Informed Malingerers?
Otology & Neurotology, 2002This study evaluated whether information about computed dynamic posturography given to subjects instructed to feign vestibular impairment (malingerers) improved their attempts to display test patterns consistent with vestibular weakness. The study design was prospective, with blinded scoring of tests. The study was conducted at a university hospital ...

Dynamic Posturography in Cervical Vertigo
Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1991Cervical vertigo, the entity of neck disorder and associated vestibular symptoms, was investigated in 15 suspected subjects and results were compared with 15 age-matched controls. A modified dynamic posturography investigation with different head positions was used. Head position was recorded 3-dimensionally with electrogoniometry.

Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1996
I greatly appreciate the opportunity to address the comments by Dobie and by Black and Homer. A brief supplemental analysis of the original data 1 is included herein to address the questions raised by my colleagues and to further support the validity of my original findings. A meta-analysis is a quantitative review of existing literature.

Sensory interaction testing in platform posturography
The Journal of Laryngology & Otology, 1993Mostly techniques measuring the vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) have been used for the evaluation of patients with dizziness problems. Some investigators, however, have also tried to take into account the vestibulospinal reflex (VSR). So recording techniques for the Romberg-test have been proposed and called posturography (PG).
