Hydration mechanism of using steel slag as binder for backfill materials in potash mines
The depth and scale of potash mines is currently increasing. Backfill materials with higher homogeneity and greater fluidity property are required to prevent blocking and ensure that filling materials are transported safely to the underground mines.

The addition of Na2CO3 or K2CO3 to sewage sludge prior to combustion leads to the production of ashes containing phosphate in the form of buchwaldite‐like phases (Ca(Na/K)PO4). Compared to conventional sewage sludge mono‐ashes, such Na‐ or K‐ashes show greatly increased P‐solubilities and proved to be potent P‐fertiliser materials in greenhouse ...

ABSTRACT Cadmium (Cd2+) contamination in agricultural soils has been reported to pose risks to crop productivity, food safety, and human health. This review synthesizes current knowledge on the mechanisms by which essential (S, Zn, Fe, Mg, K, Ca) and beneficial (Si, Se, rare earth elements) elements mitigate Cd2+ toxicity in plants.

The inclusion of sulphur at two inorganic nitrogen rates (0 and 150 kg N ha−1) improves plant productivity in a ryegrass–white clover sward and reduces nitrate‐N loss to groundwater in a free‐draining sandy loam soil. ABSTRACT Background Reducing nitrogen (N) losses to water, lessening reliance on inorganic fertiliser and maintaining agricultural ...
