Effect of Compressive Behaviours of Tail Salt Filling Materials on Roof Deformation in Potash Mine
To resolve the problem of top mine instability and the consequent ecological damage caused by different grades of ore deposits in the layered mining process, layered filling-pillar-mining-displacement method (LFPMD) is proposed using a potash mine as an ...

Statistical and clustering analysis of microseismicity from a Saskatchewan potash mine [PDF]
Microseismicity is expected in potash mining due to the associated rock-mass response. This phenomenon is known, but not fully understood. To assess the safety and efficiency of mining operations, producers must quantitatively discern between normal and ...

Impact of potash mining in streams: the Llobregat basin (northeast Spain) as a case study
Potash mining is significantly increasing the salt concentration of rivers and streams due to lixiviates coming from the mine tailings. In the present study, we have focused on the middle Llobregat basin (northeast Spain), where an important potash ...

Stock market response to potash mine disasters [PDF]
We examine the stock market reaction to natural and man-made disasters in potash mines. We use a sample of 44 mining accidents worldwide over the period 1995-2016. A quarter of the accidents were the result of a natural disaster, such as flooding, that often ended in the closure of the potash mine.

Performance Evaluation of Heading-and-Winning Machines in the Conditions of Potash Mines
The authors focus on the process of potash ore production by a mechanized method. They show that currently there are no approved procedures for assessing the performance of heading-and-winning machines operating in the conditions of potash mines.

Analysis of Methane–Air Mixture Dynamics in a Dead-End Drift Ventilated Using an Exhaust System
The dynamics of methane–air mixtures in a dead-end drift of a potash mine are investigated in this study. Methane release is associated with the destruction of potash ore during mining operations. The studied dead-end drift is ventilated using an exhaust
