Superconductivity of the potassium graphite intercalation compounds

Solid State Communications, 1986
Abstract The stratified compound C 4 K has been found to pass to a superconducting state with the onset of transition at T c = 1.3 K .

Reaction of Ammonia with Graphite-Potassium Compounds

Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals Science and Technology. Section A. Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 1994
Reaction of ammonia vapor with a KC 8 GIC and treatment (vacuum and heating) produces a new second stage GIC: K(NH 3 ) 0.5 C 8 with di=815 pm. The stage 1 GIC can be obtained by reaction with potassium vapor. Similar treatment with KC 24 leads to a stage 2 GIC:K(NH 3 ) 1.3 C 24 with a smaller di=648 pm.

New Graphite Intercalation Compounds : The Potassium Pnictographitides

Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals Science and Technology. Section A. Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 1998
Abstract New first stage ternary compounds associating potassium and phosphorous were synthesized in liquid potassium containing a few atomic percent of red phosphorous. The structural arrangement of these alkali metal rich phases was studied by X-Ray diffraction. Electrical measurements parallel and perpendicular to the c-axis were carried out between

Superconductivity in graphite-potassium intercalation compound C8K

Solid State Communications, 1978
Abstract The critical temperature T c , and the angular and temperature dependences of the upper critical field H c2 in highly oriented pseudo-single crystals of C 8 K have been studied by using a magnetic susceptibility measurement. The magnetic susceptibility abruptly changes around 139 mK at zero field.

The stability of potassium-graphite deintercalation compounds

Carbon, 1996
We have synthesized K-GICs (potassium-graphite intercalation compounds) by the modified two-bulb method. The compounds were kept under a stabilization agent (liquid paraffin). The stage transition of K-GDICs (graphite deintercalation compounds), owing to the slow diffusion of water, was observed by X-ray diffraction measurements.
