Engineering Bilayer Tandem Catalysts on Si‐Based Photocathodes for High‐performance CO2 Reduction to Produce Methane

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 15, 12 March 2026.
A Cu/Ag‐Cu bilayer tandem catalyst is designed for a pyramid‐structured p‐Si photocathode, creating multiple and functionally distinct interfaces tailored to specific reaction steps and intermediate stabilization. This Cu/Ag‐Cu‐decorated p‐Si photocathode exhibits both high photocurrent and good selectivity for photoelectrochemical CO2 reduction to CH4.

Aqueous Lithium Hydroxide Chemistry Based on Hierarchically Assembled Hydrogenated Borophene/Cobalt‐Nickel Compounds for Rechargeable High‐Performance Supercapattery

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 16, Issue 9, 4 March 2026.
Aqueous lithium‐ion storage has been demonstrated using a hierarchically assembled hydrogenated borophene/cobalt‐nickel compound as a supercapattery electrode. Reducible hydrogenated borophene generates undercoordinated oxygen, which is redox‐active for lithiation and hydrogenation during the discharging process following the lithium hydroxide ...

CO2 Electroreduction to Multicarbon Products in Acidic Electrolyte via Structural Reconstruction of a Molybdenum Porphyrin Dimer

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
A novel oxo‐bridged molybdenum porphyrin dimer electrocatalyst undergoes potential‐driven structural reconstruction in acidic electrolyte, forming MoMo bonded active sites. This dynamic transformation enables selective electrochemical CO2 reduction to multicarbon products: methanol with 74% Faradaic efficiency at −1.0 V versus RHE, and ethanol with 45%

Initial insights into sunn hemp–corn intercropping for forage production and nitrogen reduction

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract Corn (Zea mays) is a globally important crop to produce grain and silage for livestock systems. However, corn generally requires high levels of nitrogen (N) fertilizer. Introducing sunn hemp (Crotalaria juncea L.; SH), an annual legume, is a potential option for reducing N inputs.
