NEW CONVENIENT SYNTHESIS OF PHOSPHONIC KETENE DITHIOACETALS USING POTASSIUM FLUORIDE ON ALUMINA

Phosphorus, Sulfur, and Silicon and the Related Elements, 1992
Abstract A new, simple and effective method using Alumina-KF as a solid basic catalyst for the preparation of phosphonic ketene dithioacetals is described. The reaction of these ketene dithioacetals with amines was studied.

Defence responses induced by potassium phosphonate in Phytophthora palmivora-challenged Arabidopsis thaliana

Physiological and Molecular Plant Pathology, 2005
Abstract Potassium phosphonate, a systemically translocated chemical used to protect plants against oomycete pathogens, induces rapid, localised defence responses in normally susceptible plants that are similar to those observed in an incompatible interaction.

Catalytic Asymmetric Synthesis of .alpha.-Amino Phosphonates Using Lanthanoid-Potassium-BINOL Complexes

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 1995
{alpha}-Amino phosphonic acids 3 are interesting compounds in the design of enzyme inhibitors. The concept of mimicking tetrahedral transition states of enzyme-medicated peptide bond hydrolysis previously led to the successful design and synthesis of phosphonamide-containing peptides as a promising new class of proteinase inhibitors.

Charge-density distribution in potassium dihydrogen phosphoglycolate – a comparison of phosphate and phosphonate groups

Acta Crystallographica Section B Structural Science, 2012
Analysis of the experimental and theoretical charge-density distribution in potassium dihydrogen phosphoglycolate has been performed. The P—O bonds in the phosphate group are more polarized and the P atom is more positively charged than in phosphonate groups.

Effect of potassium phosphonate on root rot of Pinus radiata caused by Phytophthora cinnamomi

Australasian Plant Pathology, 1999
Seedlings of Pinus radiata transplanted into washed river sand or sand/peat potting mix pre-inoculated with Phytophthora cinnamomi developed severe wilt and root rot symptoms within 7 weeks, and died within 12 weeks. By contrast, direct inoculation of pathogen mycelium into stem wounds produced only restricted lesions.

Translocation and distribution of 32P labelled potassium phosphonate in black pepper (Piper nigrum L)

Crop Protection, 2009
Abstract The aim of this project was to study the translocation of potassium phosphonate within black pepper ( Piper nigrum L.) and to elucidate the amount of chemical distributed through out the plant based on a tracer technique. Potassium phosphonate is a potential fungicide used against the pathogen Phytophthora capsici , which causes ...
