NEW CONVENIENT SYNTHESIS OF PHOSPHONIC KETENE DITHIOACETALS USING POTASSIUM FLUORIDE ON ALUMINA
Phosphorus, Sulfur, and Silicon and the Related Elements, 1992Abstract A new, simple and effective method using Alumina-KF as a solid basic catalyst for the preparation of phosphonic ketene dithioacetals is described. The reaction of these ketene dithioacetals with amines was studied.

{alpha}-Amino phosphonic acids 3 are interesting compounds in the design of enzyme inhibitors. The concept of mimicking tetrahedral transition states of enzyme-medicated peptide bond hydrolysis previously led to the successful design and synthesis of phosphonamide-containing peptides as a promising new class of proteinase inhibitors.

Effect of potassium phosphonate on root rot of Pinus radiata caused by Phytophthora cinnamomi
Australasian Plant Pathology, 1999Seedlings of Pinus radiata transplanted into washed river sand or sand/peat potting mix pre-inoculated with Phytophthora cinnamomi developed severe wilt and root rot symptoms within 7 weeks, and died within 12 weeks. By contrast, direct inoculation of pathogen mycelium into stem wounds produced only restricted lesions.

Abstract The aim of this project was to study the translocation of potassium phosphonate within black pepper ( Piper nigrum L.) and to elucidate the amount of chemical distributed through out the plant based on a tracer technique. Potassium phosphonate is a potential fungicide used against the pathogen Phytophthora capsici , which causes ...
