PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Assessment of market potential

open access: yes
A sensitivity analysis will be conducted to determine the robustness of the market opportunities and its susceptibility to change. Another very important aspect of future implementation is the level of perceived risks by potential investors. In this study the main risks of the new components and systems developed will be investigated and communicated ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Learning Potential Assessment

Special Services in the Schools, 1986
This article describes the foundations and uses of learning potential assessment, a dynamic method of determining the student's capacity for cognitive modifiability. The method, which forms the basis for the Learning Potential Assessment Device (LPAD), can assist in identifying low functioning students whose capacity for greater achievement typically ...

Assessment of Rehabilitation Potential

Clinics in Geriatric Medicine, 1993
Physicians often have a powerful influence on patients and their families. If we enthusiastically recommend a realistic rehabilitation program, it will help our patients face the arduous process of functional recovery. Rehabilitation potential depends on many factors.

Assessing employee potentials for abuse

Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1983
Attempted to develop a battery of questionnaires and demographic data capable of early identification of institutional caretakers with potential for abuse of a client. After an extensive literature review on institutional client abuse, it was determined that the Child Abuse Potential Inventory, Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire and a General ...

Preclinical Abuse Potential Assessment

2015
Although laboratories have been conducting scientific evaluations of the abused drugs for many years, preclinical evaluations of the abuse potential of new drugs have been an integral component of new drug applications more recently. The development of a unified testing approach is crucial prior to initiating individual studies to address abuse ...
